I was born and raised in Midland. I left for college at the United States Air Force Academy and I thought I was never coming back, but 10 years later I found myself back in West Texas. I can still remember the day that my wife, Andrea and I closed on our first home when we made the move back to Midland. Our first child was 6 months old and all we could think about was how fast we could get the moving truck to the house and get all of our furniture moved in so we could set up our new nursery. That was absolutely the perfect house for us at that time.
Fast forward 5 years and add two more kids to the family and nothing could be farther from the truth. Suddenly the backyard that was perfect for one, kid felt claustrophobic with three kids and a playset. Our square footage slowly began to shrink as our boys doubled up in one room. We painted nursery #2 pink for our baby girl and converted my office into a playroom. We just never knew how much our life would change in 5 years.
One day, a blue Chevy truck came roaring down our street while my boys were playing in the front yard and I knew it was time to for us to make a move. In the back of my mind I knew it was a matter of time before something bad could happen, and I was not willing to risk that. During the process, I realized that growing families need a different level of support when they upsize: Not only do you need to sell a home, but you need to purchase a specific home that fits your growing family’s needs all while still leading your family and working a job.
That is why I created “The Dream Home Formula.”
